This is a great looking old hand painted sign.  The back and frame are wood.  I can't say for sure that the figures are wooden but they do have tiny nails in them.  The house, fence and chickens do have depth and may have been applied after the background was painted.  The picture reminds me of a French country scene with a cottage and chickens in the foreground.  The sign is 33" x 19-1/2" x 1" deep and has a wire attached to the back to hang it.  The back is painted a solid black.
