Up for auction is a cool antique 30's Very old Bailey & Himes (Champaign, Illinois) all black and gold All leather antique 8 spoke interior and exterior old football helmet (check out the great and super clean leather through-out and the extra reinforced top 8 spike rivets, tight leather in original condition. The logo is stamped into the center leather interior head harness (see photos) and reads Bailey & Himes Sporting Goods (obscure sporting goods company - adult size 7 as stamped into the back leather strap. Very nice display of the 8 spoke black leather straps (sporting goods company also stamped on he back leather panel with the - Model number ZH2 Adult size. The old 1930's (close to 85 years old) leather football helmet is made of very thick and has the Criss cross top - better known as the 8 spoke exterior). Must see all photos to get a better feel and overall description.
The vintage antique helmet is in nice shape and condition overall and has the cool and super thick all leather interior eight strap harness connected by the thick one piece all leather cushiony circular harness and light tan leather interior lining through-out (has seen very little use). The Sporting Goods company stamped into the interior harness as noted. Check out the stitching through-out (must see all photos).
The circa vintage helmet has a nice shine and displays beautifully. The interior of this helmet is a thick light tan leather lining and wraps from the front forehead to the back panel. Includes chin strap.
The interior head harness has 8 thick clean light brown tan leather straps connected by a tan leather rounded harness designed to help absorb the head to head blows!
Check out the stitching through-out as well as each panel which are in really super nice shape and overall condition (see photos).
