About Tektites: Tektites are NOT meteorites, they are a natural glass, formed when melted earth rock is blasted into the upper atmosphere of Earth by the explosive impact of meteorites. It then cools and falls back to the ground in its new form (as opposed to Impactites which don't leave earth and cool directly here). There are four known strewfields (areas in which the debris fell) and seven confirmed types of Tektite to collect from these. Varying from jet black to an almost transparent green, Tektites are very collectable by crystal enthusiasts aswell as meteorite collectors.
About Indochinite: Approximately 700,000 years ago, a large meteorite impact in the Indochinese peinsula created the Tektite we now call Indochinite. Always dark and mostly black, Indochinite is highly collectable and available in many different shapes and sizes, although the aerodynamic whole stones tend to be the most popular, much like with Meteorites.
Item Description: We used to sell these in seperate listings and has sold dozens, now we've grouped the lot into one listing and allow you to pick the weight of your piece! You will receive ONE randomly selected piece of AAA quality aerodynamic shaped, oriented Indochinite from our stock, from the weight category that you choose. Some pieces are little balls, others are shaped like little missiles! These are not cheap broken fragments, but full, whole spherical Tektites with their natural smooth and pitted surface, some even with small areas of fully fused shiny glass!
I am an avid collector of meteorites, tektites and impactites, even more so than fossils or crystals these days. So any questions or requests, just ask!
