Here I have a VERY cool pair of ice skates -- these are Adidas #7781 Black Pro skates in size 12-1/2 -- and they INCLUDE the ORIGINAL factory box!!!  The price tag is from Van Arsdell's, and they are priced at $39.99 -- very expensive skates for the time!!

The box isn't perfect, but I wouldn't expect it to be after being stored away for over 40 years.  I'm actually surprised they were able to FIT these skates INTO the box and close the lid -- they are THAT tight a fit.  So, yes, there are some scuffs and even holes through the box from the steel skates poking through.

The steel frames under the skates are marked "Canada".  The skates are marked "ADIDAS" down the side of the front foot support on both sides, on both skates.  The tongue of both skates have tags that show they were made in Yugoslavia.  So, I'm guessing the steel parts were made in Canada, and the leatherwork was done in Yugoslavia.  I would assume final assembly was probably done in Canada, mating the Yugoslavian-made leather to the Canadian made steel frames.

These skates are in FANTASTIC condition, making me wonder if they were EVER worn.  It's possible, but I don't think it's very likely -- they're just in THAT good of shape -- there's not a significant cut, scrape, or abrasion on them other than what probably occurred while the two rubbed against each other in the box.

One funny note about the size -- the bottom of the steel plate under the toes is marked 12-1/3, while the sole of the "shoe" is marked 12-1/2 -- I'm sure this was an oversight on the Canadian's part, and the steel should have been marked 12-1/2 as well.
