Is this product genuine?
This is a genuine OEM Refurbished Unit. The inside of the unit is "As good as new standard" which will allow the unit to travel 80.000 - 120.000 miles on your vehicle without blocking.
Do DPF cleaning additives work?
NO. Fuel additives have been attributed with reducing emissions and soot from the fuel burning process which could reduce the chance of the DPF being blocked. Claims that an additive can unblock the DPF and extinguish the warning light are simply untrue. By the time the additive has been through the combustion process there will be very little left and certainly won’t be capable of unblocking the DPF.
Do i need a DPF unit or can i remove it?
The following passage has been copied and pasted from the GOV.UK Website.
Tests for diesel cars and lorries are to be tightened up to ensure vehicles have a critical exhaust filter if one had originally been fitted as standard, Roads Minister Robert Goodwill has announced.
Garages and testing stations will be required to check for a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in the inspection of the exhaust system as part of the MOT test (or annual test for heavy vehicles) from February 2014.
The vehicle will automatically fail the MOT test if the filter had been fitted as standard but is found to be no longer present.
The filter works by trapping solid particulate matter from exhaust gases. This type of filter has been in use for more than 20 years and helps meet European emission standards, improving air quality and health standards.
Some firms offer services to remove the filter, claiming it will improve the economy. But it is an offence to drive a vehicle that has been modified this way, as it will no longer meet the emissions standards the car achieved when it was approved for sale in the UK.
Roads Minister Robert Goodwill said:
I am very concerned that vehicles are being modified in a way that is clearly detrimental to people’s health and undoes the hard work car manufacturers have taken to improve emissions standards. It has become apparent the government had to intervene to clarify the position on particulate filter removal given the unacceptable negative impact on air quality.
This change to the MOT tests makes it clear – if you have this filter removed from your car it will fail the test.

1. Do they have a specialist helpline offering you advice on the possible causes of your blockage before you invest time and money in unnecessary repairs?
Diesel Particulate Filters do not block of their own accord. There is usually a secondary problem in the self regeneration process that has become faulty. It is essential that these faults are diagnosed and rectified in order to ensure that there are no re-occuring problems.
2. Are they aware that cutting out a DPF may effect the MOT and cost hundreds to put right?
Contrary to popular belief, if the honeycomb in a DPF is removed, the emissions on the vehicle will still show higher regardless of how well the ECU is remapped. Although at this moment in time they will read low enough to pass the MOT, constant pressure from the European Union will soon see the UK making the Diesel Particulate Filter part of the MOT test. If this happens you will have to replace the DPF and have the vehicle ECU remapped a second time.
3. Is the price for the clean a transparent no hidden extras £250 plus VAT?

4. Do they utilise six stage four hour ultrasonic deep cleaning technology?

We use a testing method specially developed for us by the University of Nottingham to measure the flow of air through the DPF before and after cleaning so that you can be assured that the process has worked effectively.
5. Do they use non flammable liquids?
All the chemicals used in our process are non flammable. Using flammable liquids can be very dangerous, especially at the temperatures that DPF regenerations can reach. There is a real possibility of a subsequent vehicle fire if the cleaning process uses flammable liquids.
6. Do they provide a six month free clean guarantee plus half price clean thereafter for the life of the DPF?

7. Are you offered the opportunity to view the procedure?

9. Are you given a reassuring before and after flow test reading from your DPF?
Using a Flow Test Metre designed by the University of Nottingham we can test the flow going through your DPF before and after. This shows a clear indication of the work we have done. We reduce millibar readings from 200+ to 0.10.
10. If a replacement is necessary, do they offer you a discounted new genuine OE part?
In the unlikely event that we cannot clean your DPF (If the turbo had gone and oil has spilt into the DPF, thus blocking it completely). Our contract with a highly respected parts distributor ensures that we can provide you with a genuine new genuine OE DPF at a fraction of the dealer price.
