BMW S1000 XR

With this model the Bavarian Manufacturer expanded the “crossover” concept into the racing realm. 

The dual vocation of the S1000 XR challenged MIVV to design a group of exhaust systems with specific technical 

solutions and features, intended to meet the expectations of both the sport oriented rider and the more eclectic adventurer.

Twist the throttle and it feels like a Superbike. Add a pair of bags, a passenger and a mixed-terrain road and the bike will morph into a true adventure-tourer. 

After all that XR designation leaves no doubt: X as in “cross” and R as in “racing”. Two riding philosophies that BMW wrapped into a single, unprecedented package.

MIVV, with their systems, interpreted this dual “spirit” in the best possible way, offering a viable and performing alternative to the OEM exhaust, something hard to find anywhere else.

The silencers selected to fit the S1000 XR are  -  OVAL,  SPEED EDGE and  SUONO: 

for them MIVV designed two different adapters to connect to the OEM head pipes so that is possible to choose between the standard low-mount (as in the OEM configuration) or a new, high-mount. On top of that, an available kit will allow to switch between the two mounts at any time, with little or no effort.

The low-mount muffler allows for the mounting of touring bags while the high-mount, with its black bracket featuring an aggressive XR logo, complements the quick lines of the BMW rear end. Its look will appeal to those users who put quick rides, urban mobility or even track days at the top of their list.

The powerplant moving this bike is the same in-line four found on the sport oriented sister, the S1000RR, mapped and tuned to be right at home on the open road but without sacrificing its original racing spirit. 

Installing any of the MIVV systems the performance will improve even more: from the +9.8 HP gain of the SUONO standard, to the +13.9 HP gain of the SPEED EDGE open.

Torque will increase too, according to the dyno data: +7.8 Nm with the SUONO in its standard configuration, up to +18 Nm (truly remarkable) with the same muffler but without the Db killer. And these values read at only 2.400 RPM!

Similar values can be obtained with the standard edition of the SPEED EDGE (16 Nm/2.200 RPM). Refer to the attached dyno chart for the complete data.
