Guevara, Ernesto "Che" (1928-1967) – very rare signed document

Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, military theorist and a major figure of the Cuban Revolution. Captured during a 1967 campaign in Bolivia, he was executed on the following day and instantly attained status as a martyr and one of the most revered and influential political revolutionaries of the 20th century. 

Visually striking partly-printed document signed. In Spanish, signed with his usual small “che”. 1p, 15.75 x 12.0 inch, n.p., September 1962, Ministry of Industry Honorable Mention Certificate awarded to Arturo Benitez Navarro. Signed by Guevara as Minister of Industries. Uniform toning, small closed tear at the left edge, minor stains and probably slightly trimmed. Signature is strong and fine. Guevara was at the very top of Castro's government when this document was signed, serving as minister of industries and president of the Cuban National Bank. Despite his status, the activist in him disliked his official governmental duties, leading him to sign documents such as this solely as “Che”. A rare document!
