Ski-Doo Vintage Snowmobile Bombadier-Rotax GMBH, Gunskichen 399 cc Fan/Cooled Serial Number (Motor Number) 2984872 Made in Austria. This is a type 343, Olmpique/Nuvik Engine, originally used in the 1977-79 Ski-Doo Olympic 340/340E.

Engine comes with:

Ignition coils
Recoil Starter
Primary clutch
Engine mounting plate and hardware
Carb boot

Condition:

Has good compression on both cylinders and turns over easily
Does not have spark - I believe this is due to harness connector not attached to a wiring harness (circuit not closed)
Engine in general good condition but could use some cleaning
Engine cover has a ding in front and a small chip on top (see pics)
This engine appears to have new pistons and rings - they show some slight scratches, but no sign of use. No carbon deposits, no heat marks
Gaskets appear new

Without looking inside this engine, I believe that it can be running without too much effort. The new pistons and rings with no apparent run time on them is somewhat of a mystery. The only thing that comes to mind is this engine was partially rebuilt (pistons, rings, gaskets) and whoever did this could not get it running (spark problem?) and gave up. In it's day, this was a very well made and reliable engine.
