Der neu entwickelte Bajonett-Anschluss besitzt eine integrierte automatische Okularverriegelung, die alle Okulare sicher am Spektiv fixiert. Durch die komplette Neukonstruktion des optischen Systems ist die Okularbrennweite nun auch unabhängig vom verwendeten 65er- oder 82er-Spektiv und bleibt beim Wechseln der Okulare erhalten. Das Okular verfügt über neue gummierte Funktionselemente und bequeme Drehaugenmuscheln, was den Beobachtungskomfort deutlich erhöht. Es ist dadurch besonders griffig und auch mit Handschuhen gut bedienbar. Es ist wasserdicht und unabhängig vom Spektiv druckwasserdicht bis 3 m. The APO-Televid 82 delivers superb optical performance for brilliant insights into nature that are rich in detail and contrast - from dawn until dusk.The combination of the apochromatic optics with their new FL glass and the 82 mm front lens diameter increase the light yield, compared to the previous models, by more than 6%!

The eyepiece is fast bayonet mounted and has a magnification of 25x to 50x. It has a very wide angle viewing area, which gives the user a unusually wide field view. The object you are viewing is not only magnified, but also the surrounding area and thus its context can also be observed exactly.

You can now also take a "scoped" photo of your favourite subject easily using an adapter designed specifically for the LEICA D-LUX4 digital camera.

Consequently, Leica enables viewing experiences which are unique on this scale.The newly developed interchangeable bayonet system has an integrated, automatic eyepiece lock, which fixes all eyepieces securely to the scope. Thanks to the entirely new construction of the optical system, the eyepiece's focal length is now also independent of the 65 mm or 82 mm scope being used, and is retained when the eyepieces are changed. The eyepiece has new, rubberised function elements and comfortable rotating eyecups, which significantly increases comfort when viewing. As a result, the eyepiece is particularly good to get hold of and also easy to handle when wearing gloves. The eyepiece is also waterproof up to 17ft (5m) plus, to maintain peak performance and prevent fogging, it is nitrogen filled.
