Her writings in the 20th century played a significant role in opening up Asia to the west.” A Degree of Prudery, a biography of Fanny Burney (also from the Wiki: “English novelist, diarist and playwright.”), publisher Arthur Barker, 1951, appears first edition, 296 pages. Light page tanning, minor blemishes, minor hard cover edge wear, jacket is almost shabby with moderate wear and heavier wear with tearing to edges, large tears along the spine. Raffles of Singapore, a biography, publisher University of Malaya Press, 1968, with 587 pages. Same general condition with a jacket in a little better condition.
