WOW!

One record we have always wanted to have in our collection has been the album by A-AUSTR, partly because it's the first super rare record in any UK price guide... plus if you've heard it, you know it is worth every penny (four years ago a copy turned up and sold for a measly £700 and we missed it... copies now would be well over double this figure, despite the re-issues available)...

... anyways, we are getting away from the point and what we have here...

Before A-Austr, they called themselves Chief Crazy Horse... and never released anything under this name... not a thing, nothing out there under this name... well, we have one of only a couple of acetates that were ever pressed... the B side "Grail Search" is an apt title!  Super duper rare private press!

At the time of making this acetate, the Holy Ground Enterprises were numbering their acetates, and this was HG117... the numbering re-started again when they started to actually release proper sell to the public records... so this does appear to have a higher number than the A-Austr LP... but as explained, this is to be expected.

I nice aspect of this disc, is that it comes in a company sleeve, a little grubby, torn and un-exciting... but it is an original company sleeve... plain white, with... "HOLY GROUND ENTERPRISES" and address stamped on both sides... as far as company sleeves go, this is also, possibly, one of the rarest out there... we have never seen or heard of another one, especially from this early era of the label/studio... and we were tempted to sell it on it's own for a high price tag... however, we got this disc in this sleeve and we are selling them together... as intended.

The disc... well... as you can see from the labels, they are grubby and a little damaged... and the discs surface has several marks and scratches... the disc is a metal core acetate, and was never intended for many plays... it plays ok, but with a lot of background noise, clicks and pops... doesn't jump on our system, but is probably close to doing so.

Only one other copy is known of, this was offered as either a prize or special charity auction item by Holyground many years ago, we have no trace of this item, and don't know whatever happened to it.... so this item isn't 100% unique, but it's pretty close... possibly the only copy that will appear for many many years.

An awesome find, and one of the rarest records ever produced and pressed by Holy Ground Enterprises... a holy 'grail  search' success.
