FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

A beautiful, vintage and very rare Hiolle billiards (Queues) cue. Made in France
I will assume that if you are looking at this listing you know about Hiolle cues
I believe they refer to this cue a a 4 point.
It has a bakelite ferule so this should help date the cue.
There is a hair line crack in the ferule (see photo 9) common in bakelite. This has no bearing on the strength of the joint.
The shafts are straight with no wobble when rolled. It is 58" long with a 19 oz weight.
From what I have read they used exotic woods with hand carving and mother of pearl and ivory inlays.
The carving on this stick is very nice, and there are 8 inlayed dots of ? ivory.
There is the Hiolle crest (see photo 2) with the letters C to the left and M to the right.
under this is By S.G.D.G.
All this being said the negitives are the ferule hair line and at the butt there is a small chip (photo 7)
It has some play wear marks but over all a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
