We are offering a number of antique textiles that are part of a large collection, purchased in Hong Kong during the 1950s and 1960s. The textiles date between the late 19^th to the early 20^th Century.  At the time of purchase, antique embroidered silk textiles from China were frequently mounted with brocade borders and backed with solid silk. In many cases they were originally part of larger garments or embroidered silk hangings. 

We bought this collection from an auction house in the 1990s when the original collector decided to close his business. These pieces have been carefully stored and show no signs of light or insect damage. 

The uneven colored areas are due to light reflections and shadows in the photograph and not due to discoloration. This textile contains couched gold and silver threads all in excellent condition.
