This Sicura (Breitling) is in good cosmetic condition and working very well.

              The watch is keeping good time and the hour and date change as they should.

 The blue dial is signed Sicura, 17 Jewels and Swiss Made. 

 It displays minute, day and date windows. 

 The second hand is white and red in colour.

 The glass show some scratches, as captured in the pictures.

 The case has both a polished and brushed finish. 

 It measures 36.2mm across. This excludes the crown.

 The lugs shoulders are 18mm.

 The back is made from stainless steel and is screwed shut.

 It bares all the typical Sicura to the outside.

 

The wind-up movement is in good clean condition. Working just as it should.

 It is fitted with 17 jewels.

  A saviour came to Breitlings rescue, as the troubled firm closed, it was taken over by Ernest Schneider(a former pilot), and the CEO of Sicura. 

 Schneider was convinced that the Breitling brand was worth the effort of saving as it had always stood for excellent quality and had the potential to keep doing so. 

The CEO´s first act was to produce three new models, the Jupiter, Mars and Pluto chronographs, after conferring with other pilots.

 In 1984 the wind of change had begun for mechanical watches, as they gained popularity once more, and the firm produced the first one since 1979.

After long consideration, Ernest decided that the Sicura brand would be scaled down because of Breitlings greater potential. 

Some of the Breitling watches produced after 1979 share similar features with Sicura watches from the same period and therefore looks somewhat alike.

 I have not cleaned or polished the watch. 

 The watch shows general marking due to use.
