Description

SCENT FLASK: A Rare Minton Porcelain Scent Bottle of compressed circular form decorated to the body with polychrome enamelled white primulas to the front, a spray of jasmine on the verso with a gilt and black enamel Greek Meander decorating the edge.  Hallmarked Sampson Mordan silver mount and push button hinged cover with spring loaded integral glass liner and unusual rope twist chain mount.  Frazer & Haws stamped to the gilt disc under the glass liner.

Dated Hallmark London 1871.

Condition Report

 Fine.  The bottle shows little or no sign of wear.  The porcelain is white on the inside suggesting that it may not have been used.  The gilt border shows only some light wear.

A beautiful well made bottle, quite rare to find and in this condition.
