This is the Master XUD9A & DW8B Engine Workshop Manual suitable for all models of the Peugeot engine as fitted to the LDV Pilot.

This manual is in three combined sections:

1. The first section is the main XUD9A engine manual covering the initial builds of the XUD9A 10CUA1 1905cc engine.
2. The second section of this manual is theXUD9A engine manual revisions supplement incorporated on the engine to comply with Euro 2 emissions regulations from 1st October 1998. The new engine is designated as the XUD9A L3 and has a revised airbox, fuel injection pump, glow plug system and an EGR valve with cold idle relay and vacuum solenoid.
   This section should be used in conjunction with the first section of this manual.
3. The third section of this manual is the XUD9A DW8B L4 Euro 3 1868cc engine revisions supplement which should be used in conjunction with the previous parts of this manual.
   This section applies to later models of the Pilot and was the final Peugeot engine variation supplied to LDV.
   This section details all the changes from the original XUD9A to the DW8 version and it covers the DW8 engine in great detail.
