I pack my tapes professionally, using bubblewrap and industry standard cardboard mailers designed to ship reel-to-reel tapes.

I take pride in the fact that I safely shipped over 35,000 items to my customers.

I visually grade both the tape and the cover separately.

These are the grades I use:

Still Sealed (SS)  = a new tape, sealed in its original shrinkwrap.

Near Mint (NM) Tape is near perfect. Very likely unplayed.  The tape cover should also be near perfect with only minor signs of wear.

Excellent (EX) Tape looks to have been well cared for with minimal signs of wear and no splices or wrinkling. The cover may have some minor shelf wear but it should be mostly in good shape. Also, there may be some minor creases in the corners but no splits in the seams.

Very Good Plus (VG+) Tape may exhibit some signs of wear, damage, or careful splicing, most likely confined to the first few feet of the tape. Noticeable wear/splits on the cover, but the cover should for the most part be in good condition.

Very Good (VG) Tape is well played and looks it. However, the tape should still play through. It could have substantial surface noise, flutter, wow or drop out.  The tape cover may have many problems including seam splits, tears, stains and writing on it.

Good / Fair / Poor - I do not sell these grades.
