This is an extremely fine pair of top quality vintage GRENSON footmaster Country shoes. They are in absolutely fabulous condition and are showing no signs of wear (as can clearly be seen in the accompanying pictures). The leather uppers are perfect with only the slightest sign of creasing present. The 'Itshide' Commando rubber soles are hardly showing any wear at all, commensurate with careful and considerate ownership.
Made at their factory in Northampton during the footmaster era when GRENSON were renowned for producing footwear of quality and worth; these shoes epitomise the classic art of shoemaking. Utilising the finest full grain leather, accompanied by the classic 'ITSHIDE' Commando hard wearing rubber sole, they exude top quality and style but most of all functionality.
It would be 'nigh-on' impossible to find a matching pair in such excellent condition.

STORM WELT DEFINITION
By turning the upper out and laying a welt on top, a seal is created where water will not enter. Although primarily used for country or hiking boots, this method also appears on dress shoes at times. It’s definitely not a slim or streamlined aesthetic. However, if you prefer a rugged look, this is one way to go. Some shoemakers add a piping of silicone between the insole and welt, to make the soles thoroughly waterproof.
