Beautiful, old native american pipe stem. We believe, after doing some research on our own, that it may be Cheyenne. A similar one is in the collection of the Florida Museum of Natural History and is attributed to possibly being Cheyenne. The paint to the wood is still in great condition. The file branding is beautiful and the tacks have taken on a great age. Good, age appropriate, wear. Great patination overall with no major issues aside from a white mark (shown in the photos ) that it acquired at some point which I will not try to remove. A stunning display piece.

I've had a few people ask about the "joint" in the middle. It is actually one piece. The appearance of a seam is actually caused by the way it was file branded. I have included a magnified photo. Sorry about the confusion.

WHILE I APPRECIATE EVERYONE'S ENTHUSIASM FOR THE PIPE STEM I NEED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT IT WILL ONLY BE SOLD THROUGH AUCTION BIDS. I LITERALLY DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO RESPOND TO ALL OF THE "BUY IT NOW" REQUESTS (SO IF I HAVE NOT GOTTEN BACK TO YOU PLEASE KNOW I AM NOT TRYING TO AVOID ANYONE). I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ITEM YOU MAY HAVE. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
