This is a vintage c. 1950-60 stainless steel Jaeger LeCoultre Chronograph, with a Valjoux caliber 72 movement. It has a shell cordovan strap with a stainless steel tang buckle, and a domed acrylic crystal. There is a screw-down solid engraved case back, an inner anti-magnetic dust cap, and round chronograph pushbuttons. The 35.5mm diameter solid three-body case, downturned lugs, and angled bezel are polished. The original silver dial has intact l ume plots, the original steel spear hands with luminous inserts with a patina that matches the lume plots, applied steel Arabic numeral hour markers, and luminous dot indices on a 60-minute/one-fifth second track. There is a center sweep chronograph seconds hand, and the perimeter has a blue tachymeter scale to 1000 UPH. The three-register chronograph consists of a small seconds register at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute register is at 3 o'clock. The 13.3mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

This Jaeger LeCoultre Chronograph has a mechanical manual winding caliber Valjoux 72 movement that's rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 17 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, and a self-compensating blued Breguet balance spring.

The Valjoux 72 is the same manual movement used in some models of 1950's and 1960's Rolex Daytona's.
