I don't know about you, BUT I would rather see more description of an item than a one line blip, followed by a lotta blah, blah, blah.
I realized many years ago that if I wanted to keep my old bikes, ride my old bikes and keep my old bikes looking good, I had to do something about the deteriorating, cheap Japanese steel hardware. STAINLESS STEEL was the way to go and I embarked on a quest to find a replacement for the ugliest set of hardware, right at the front of my bike - the front fork pinch bolts. A simple quest I thought until I came to the realization that Honda was not going to let it be so. The 10mm 1.25 thread bolts I searched the WORLD for (on the internet), were not available in stainless steel, in any grade of stainless, at any length as a hex head bolt. I could get it as allen head, torque head, threaded rod - but not in a hex head bolt.
I found this difficult to swallow until I met up with a seasoned machinist who laughed at my quest saying "You won't find a bolt like that in the world. The standard is 1.50 for a 10mm bolt". That served to confirm all that I had come up with at the time. He offered to make me a set for time and material in his fancy machine shop. I still have that uglier than sin set of bolts that cost me 80 bucks sticking out of the wall above my not so fancy metal shop. 80 bucks 15 years ago and UGLY!
So you may say 43 bucks ain't such a good deal. Sure, you could maybe find a NOS set for about 20, but they're still cheaply plated, cheap Japanese steel bolts that are probably starting to pit or tarnish or discolor after 40+ years of storage and you'll be wiping the rust marks off after the first time you get caught in the rain. That is if you and the old girl DO go riding.
These bolts are hand ground and threaded from marine grade, stainless steel stock. They are guaranteed to NEVER pit, tarnish, rust or corrode and their finish puts chrome plated hardware to shame. GUARANTEED! The bolts are 1 3/8" in length (tip to base of head), and also work for the lower rear shock mount. These bolts may also be used on other models that require a 10mm, 1.25 thread pitch of the same dimensions. But I only know and love my 450's for sure (as you can tell by my user name). So be sure to research for use on other models.
