Appreciate your time. ________________________________________________________________________________________ NEW VERSION DESCRIPTIONS:The new version of the GPS Module has two main parts: - module with 5' cable and 1/8" male plug - 8P8C coupler with RJ45 1' cable and 1/8" female plug Now you can extend it to any length that you want by just using the standard 1/8" Stereo Male to 1/8" Stereo Female cable.
Also both items (GPS Module and 8P8C Coupler Adapter) could be purchased separately.
NEVER PLUG THE CABLE ON HOT. ALWAYS REMOVE POWER FROM THE MODULE BEFORE USE EXTENSION CORD!r
This is the complete GPS "Plug and Play" Module. Tested with Kenwood TM-D710 transceiver.

Easy installation and doesn't requires any special skills. Just follow these simple steps:
INSTALLATION: 1) Turn OFF Radio. 2) Unplug the RJ45 cable from the TM-D710 panel. 3) Plug 3.5 mm Male of GPS module into 3.5 Female of 8P8C Coupler Adapter. 4) Plug the RJ45 cable from the 8P8C Coupler Adapter into TM-D710 panel. 5) Plug the 2.5 mm stereo plug into GPS connector of TM-D710 panel. 6) Plug the RJ45 cable from the TM-D710 main module into 8P8C Coupler Adapter. 7) Locate the GPS module near windshield. 8) Turn ON Radio. 9) Set-up the GPS Port Menu #602 in APRS Menu -Change the Baud Rate to: 9600 -Set the Input to: GPS -Set the Output to: Waypoint 10) Exit from MENU 11) Push TNC on the right 12) Done.
Let the GPS Module "warm-up". It takes about 5 minutes for the first "cold" start. If the all setting are correct the GPS icon in top right corner should blink.
On the side of GPS Module there is LED which indicates the module status: 1) RED (cont. ON) - POWER is ON 2) GREEN (blinking) - GPS is ACTIVE RX/TX
DO NOT: - Place GPS Module outside of car. The GPS Module isn't waterproof. Only for indoor use. - Leave GPS Module on direct sun lights for a long time. - Modify GPS Module. You might damage your TM-D710 and GPS Module.
RECOMMENDATIONS: - Place GPS Module near car dashboard or windshield. - Position the Module so you can see the LED.
