Wide antique Art Nouveau Valenciennes lace flounce in a rich cream... Fashioned of linen, rendering a daintier texture and appearance, this lace features a repetitive floral motif with vines, greenery and scrolls, and is finished off with a picoted scalloped edge along one side and engrelure along the top. Measures ~ 5"X69" as measured along the scalloped edge, and is finished along 2 sides. Appears unused. In overall good-very good condition with mild age yellowing, mild fraying along the unfinished edges, a rare light spot, a rare aberrant manufactural seam, a few small breaks and a rare tiny repair which is not readily apparent, especially in ruffled form.
