TAG Heuer Formula One F1 Calibre S Chronograph CAH7010

This watch has the following features :-

-Exclusive and patented TAG Heuer Calibre S Electro-Mechanical Chronograph Movement with Perpetual retrograde calendar till 2099.

-Stainless steel case with TAG Heuer embossed on the side (49mm including crown) and brand new aftermarket black rubber strap.

-Titanium carbide coated stainless steel black unidirectional rotating bezel with embossed Arabic numerals and a unique serrated edge design.

-Black dial with TAG Heuer logo below 12 O'clock, white inner minute track, dial inscribed "TAG Heuer Calibre S Formula 1 Chronograph Swiss Made".

-Luminous baton and dot style hour markers with Arabic numeral indexes at 3,9 and 12 and luminous white sword style hands.

- 2 subsidiary dials for chronograph functions measuring elapsed 1/10th, 1/100 of a second seconds and minutes.

-TAG Heuer signed screw down caseback with the chequered flag design, model number and unique serial number.

-TAG Heuer signed screw down crown with adjacent black pushers.

The calibre S was first announced by TAG Heuer in 2005 and took a further 2 1/2 years of development until it was ready for commercial sale in late 2007.

This movement is powered by a battery, but labelling it a Quartz understates the complexity of the Calibre S, which uses more that 230 components (as opposed to 30-40 in a traditional Quartz movement)

TAG Heuer refer to the movement as an 'electro-mechanical Calibre'  a label that brings back memories of the Calibre 185 Quartz chronograph from the 1980's that combined a Quartz based movement with a traditional mechanical chronograph module.

The Calibre S movement operates in two modes, namely a regular 12 hour analog time, and a chronograph mode. A press of the crown toggles between the two, and allows for a seamless switch.

While the regular analog mode displays the time and date, the chronograph mode enables the measurement of elapsed time. 

The Calibre S also boasts a perpetual calendar function; the watch keeps track of the month and year to correctly display the date no matter the number of days in a given month.  

Unlike many other chronographs, the subsidiary second dials at the bottom allow stopwatch timing to 1/100th of a second accuracy. 

This watch is in good condition as can be seen in the HD photographs that form part of the description.

As to be expected with a used watch it does show signs of use.

On 30/4/2017 the watch was given a new battery, reseal  and pressure tested and receipt will be included
