SEL Steam Engine 1530

A charming vintage Live Steam toy by S.E.L. (Signalling Equipment Ltd) 1530 Junior model.

Being single cylinder with cotton burner (not original). In unrestored and untested condition so is therefor sold as seen with no guarantees implied or given, however when I last used the engine (around 8 years ago) it was running beautifully.

This would make a great addition to an existing collection or as a piece of interesting man cave décor!

Condition:

In good well used condition. This item is old and as such may have small marks, surface scratches and dirt commensurate with age and adding to authenticity. Some small old solder repairs to the pipes. A lovely patina/tarnish to the brass body but could be polished if preferred. And some small paint chips to the base and burner stand. The burner is present but is obviously not original, however still does the job well! The wheels and pistons are not stiff and move freely. There are no visible breakages or holes and nothing to suggest this won’t run like a dream! Please take our condition report as a guide and refer to the photos for your own judgement.

Measurements:

Approximate measurements are 10.5cm long x 9.5cm wide and standing 11cm tall. Weighing in total 350g.

Postage:
We use DPD next day service for most items, for smaller items we will use Royal Mail 1st class and for international deliveries we use UPS Air service. All three offer a safe and very efficient service which we have found no other courier can beat. We aim to dispatch items within one working day of payment received, however we do have to travel from home in order to obtain stock so please keep in mind on very rare occasions dispatch may take up to 3 working days. Feel free to contact us after 4 working days if your item has not arrived within the UK and we will do our best to investigate. Alternatively the item is available to collect by appointment from North London, Barnet (Junction 2 of the M1) NW4. The item must be collected within 1 week of the auction ending. Contact must be made and payment method confirmed before being collected.

International Buyers:
International buyers are very welcome but are responsible for any customs, duties etc. imposed by the buyers country. As antiques are often a regulated item when imported internationally we ask international buyers to check their own countries rules and regulations before buying. We cannot be held responsible for any fines, or loss of an item due to customs. If you cannot find a postage rate to your country feel free to get in contact as we are willing to send to most countries. We will not lie on any custom or postage forms so please do not ask.

Please note that the international postage prices listed are estimates and we reserve the right to request for more or cancel the order if the postage is significantly more expensive. We will always refund any extra funds if the final postage cost is less. Why not take a look at our other items as we are always happy to combine postage!

Payment:
We are happy to accept any of the following forms of payment: PayPal, postal order, cheque or cash on collection. Please contact us if you will be using a payment method other than PayPal. Items cannot be sent until all funds have been cleared. Payment must be received within 3 working days of purchase (unless an alternative method is agreed by ourselves and the buyer) if not cash on collection. We reserve the right to relist the item and open an unpaid item case.

Returns and Terms of Sale:
Customer satisfaction is our main priority. All of our items are always sold with returns accepted and a 14 day money back guarantee. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the item please make contact within 2 weeks of the auction ending and send it back in its original condition to receive a refund (unfortunately in order to keep our prices fair we are unable to refund the return postage cost).

We make every effort to list and describe our items condition honestly and as accurately as possible. Due to the nature of antiques, buyers should not expect a brand new product. Antiques are old and will often have faults, scratches repairs etc. All of these imperfections will be highlighted in either the description or photos above so please do take a good look at the photos before bidding/buying as these show the item in much more detail than the description ever can.

We often exhibit our items at various antique fairs and events, therefor we sincerely apologise if we need to end an item or cancel a sale if the item has sold in person before we can end the listing (don’t worry this hasn’t happened yet and hopefully never will!).

If you have any questions please feel free to ask, don't forget to browse our shop, and add us to your favourites list as we are always adding interesting antiques and art every week!

Thanks for looking!
