These don't come up for sale very often - especially in the UK....

This is a GENUINE BRABUS Leather Steering wheel - made by RAID.

It's the flappy paddle version and has a rather nice set of RS Parts metal paddles fitted.

These cost approx. £1500 new from a Smart dealer - if you can actually still get them.

This wheel was never fitted to ANY smart at the factory. Not even the Brabus versions. But this wheel made an appearance on the Roadster V6 Concept car and since then everyone has clamoured to get hold of one - especially as this absolutely transforms the feel and handling of the car - on account of it's meaty bolstered leather rim coupled with the smaller diameter of the wheel itself.

This wheel will fit the following models:

• Smart Roadster (notchback) - all models all years (standard & Brabus including all special editions, Bluewave, Speedsilver, Finale etc) 2003-2007
• Smart Roadster-Coupe - all models all years (standard & Brabus including all special editions, Bluewave, RCR, Finale etc.) 2003-2007
• Smart Fortwo City Coupe / Cabrio - all models 2003-2007 with the 700cc engine

If your car already has paddleshift, this wheel is a straight swap. If not a simple wiring change is required (swapping plugs in the loom) and programming to enable the paddle function at a dealer or specialist.

The wheel was professionally removed with the wheels in the straight-ahead position so if you fit to your car with the steering in the same position there is a fair chance it will simply plug in and work though it may require angle sensor calibration to prevent bringing on an error.

IMPORTANT - you MUST fit with the wheels dead ahead. If they're turned and you fit the wheel you will break the angle sensor!

We strongly recommend you have this wheel fitted professionally by a smart specialist or dealer. NO RETURN will be accepted for a broken angle sensor.
