This free form cut cabochon Fire Agate gemstone carving is in the shape of a 'claw' and could be used for a gemstone specimen display piece or unique piece of jewelry for a creative artisan. It has predominately orange and brown colors with some green showing through and requires good lighting conditions for best fire display. The backside of the gemstone is curved (see thickness photo) so it would likely be best used in a wire wrap project if used for jewelry purposes. The stone measures 29 x 11 x 5 mm and weighs 13.5 carats. This one of a kind gemstone carving would make for a wonderful addition to any gemstone or mineral specimen collection.

The fire agate rough that this piece was created from originated from Slaughter Mountain, Arizona, known for fire agate gemstones with intense color variations from bright reds and oranges to intense greens, purples and blues. Photographs were taken outdoors in sunlight and indoors under lights while the carving was dry and to best display the internal fire.
