This listing is for a complete woman's folk costume from the Kurpie region of central Poland. The costume consists of 4 elements: long blouse, vest, skirt, and apron. In addition to these parts, there is also a plastic necklace included to imitate the amber beads traditionally worn with costumes in the Kurpie region. The blouse is made of white cotton and has handmade crochet lace trim around the collar. The blouse is long enough to also serve as the underskirt for this costume. It is in excellent condition and freshly laundered, ready for wear. The vest is made from a shiny black fabric with red trim and three rows of decorative buttons. It features the traditional cut that is only seen in costumes from this region. The skirt is made from a luscious, shiny brown, densely woven fabric. It is very full and it too has a cut that is characteristic to the Kurpie region. The apron is white with crocheted lace. The costume is in excellent condition with no significant damage, but you might notice an insignificant spot or a few loose stitches from light wear. This costume is from the second half of the 20th century and is a high-quality, authentic reproduction of the local dress from this region (the skirt is even older and the most valuable part of the costume). This is a rare addition to your ethnic clothing collection and would look wonderful on display or worn to a Polish festival or ethnic parade.
