Here I am offering a service to
reprogram the BMW E46 M3 ECU (MSS54 and MSS54HP) to an Alpha-N tune that allows
you to remove the MAF sensors.
Benefits of Alpha-N
- Allows to remove the MAF (mass
air flow) sensor which needs periodic replacement. Warn out sensors
will make you lose power especially in warm weather. The price of
this remap is comparable to the price of a new MAF sensors!
- Faster throttle response and
more power
- No loss of driveability and
refinement
- No problems when driving at high
altitudes as the built in barometric sensor in the ECU compensates for the
difference
- cheaper alternative than converting to a full CSL setup (MAP sensor, 288/280 camshafts, ECU modification) as only the ECU needs to be modified.
Specifications
- Alpha-N tune used without MAF
sensor and carbon airbox (can be used with stock airbox)
- the MAF sensor can be left in
place but needs to be unplugged
- an air temperature sensor still
needs to be used - this can be either the sensor built in to the MAF
sensor by leaving pins 1 (yellow/blue) and 3 (brown/orange) connected or if you will be using a carbon airbox, by connecting a intake air temperature relocation kit offerd on my other auction http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151141494906
- 20hp gain at 7900rpm

- rear lambda sensors and catalytic converters can be removed with no ECU error codes
- auxiliary air pump can be removed with no ECU errors
- internal EGR delete to reduce carbon buildup
- EWS delete as a no charge option
- lift-off burble can be added at no extra cost
IMPORTANT: this is an auction
for the service and not for an ECU. You will need to send me the ECU to
have it reprogrammed and it will be returned to you with insured
postage. When the ECU is removed it will lose the synchronization
with the EWS. Once you get it back you will need to re-synchronize it
before the car will start. If you are not able to do that then I can
disable the EWS requirement in the ECU at no extra charge and it will be plug
and play.
The MSS54/MSS54HP ECUs come with many part numbers. This is not important as they are all covered in this service. The ones on the picture are for illustration only and the service is not limited to those numbers.
