This auction is for a superb sounding Marantz CD-5000 CD Player. The CD-5000 has been described as "one of the best CD players ever made" and possibly the best sounding ever made by Philips. Much of this praise is due to its very rare DAC chip, a Philips TDA1549, which does produce a quite magical sound. It is certainly one of the most analogue sounding CD players that I have heard. The player for sale, which has had light use in my headphone system, is in very good condition and perfect working order; and it is supplied with a remote control and user guide.
