Level 1: 5% Salicylic Acid Peel: Maintenance peel that can be used every few days, or as needed, to keep pores clear and oily skin under control.
Level 2: 10% Salicylic Acid Peel: Light peel that is highly effective in controlling excess oil output and deep cleansing the pores. It should not be used more than 1-2 times per week.
Level 3: 20% Salicylic Acid Peel: Medium peel that is for use only after you have acclimated your skin to the 10% peel. Should not be use more than 1 time per week.
Level 4: 35% Salicylic Acid Peel: Medium/deep peel that is for use only after you have acclimated your skin to the 20% peel. This is a strong solution and should be used no more than every 7-10 days.
ACNE CLIENTS: You are beginning your treatments with pores that are congested/clogged with embedded dirt, dead skin cells and sebum. As you begin your treatments the sebum just under the surface will likely emerge as blemishes. This is normal. Breakouts may seem more pronounced since the acid is cleaning the pores more quickly than with regular cleansing products. Typically within the first 3 weeks, the skin begins to show improved clarity with very few breakouts. Please try to be patient during this time. Deep cleansing and exfoliation is a "process" which takes some time to work. Misuse can result in burns and hyper-pigmentation. Please follow all instructions in the pamphlet included with the peel.

It is recommended that a sunscreen of at least 15 SPF or higher, be worn while using this product and for at least one week after you discontinue use. A "stinging", "tingly" or "hot" sensation is normal when using lactic acid peels. You can expect quick exfoliation of the surface layer of the skin and the removal of impurities from the pores. Your skin will feel healthier, smoother and more vibrant.
WILL MY SKIN "PEEL"?
Lactic peels will not necessarily induce a visible "peel". Each person's skin responds differently to lactic stimulation. While some people do notice visible "peeling" or sloughing, frequently, exfoliation is at a cellular level and not apparent to the naked eye; however, the peel will provide a tighter and firmer complexion and appearance. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict an individuals skin response. Results are dependent upon the client's skin physiology, hormones, skin hydration and environment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Lactic acid peels are a mild exfoliant. There is little to no skin irritation and no client down time. They can provide the same results as a stronger peel, but will have to be applied in series, as opposed to intensive singular treatments. A series of six to eight peels will provide significant skin improvement.
HOW LONG SHOULD I LEAVE THE PEEL ON MY SKIN?
As a safety precaution, lactic acid should not be left on the skin longer than 10 minutes. While many clients can tolerate a longer amount of time, the risk of developing burns or hyper-pigmentation is increased. If this your first time using a peel, we recommend starting with 2-4 minutes (depending on your tolerance). As you become more accustomed to the effects of the peel, you may then increase the application time with each subsequent treatment.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY THE PEEL?
The frequency of lactic acid treatments varies, depending on the sensitivity of the skin and the condition being treated. Weekly applications are recommended for optimal results. Do not apply more than 2 times per week.
NOTE: Every patient reacts differently to lactic stimulation; a medical professional should evaluate the patient's skin to determine the length of time and pH level that can be tolerated.
DIRECTIONS:
- Cleanse face/body with an oil-free cleanser or alcohol and pat dry.
- Apply 10 drops of solution on the application pad (more can be used it needed) and apply to the face/body using a gentle rubbing action. Keep the solution away from the eyes, lips and mucus membranes.
- Leave on the skin for 2-6 minutes (do not exceed 10 minutes) depending on your tolerance. If redness or excessive stinging occurs, was off face/body immediately.
- To remove, use copious amounts of water and follow up with a facial cleanser. Please make sure you face is thoroughly rinsed. Pay close attention to the areas around the eyebrows, behind the ears and the creases around the nose. A mixture (paste) of baking soda and water can also be used as a neutralizer.
- Apply moisturizer and follow with a sunscreen SPF of 30 or higher.
- Repeat every 5-7 days for a series of 6-8 treatments.
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours.
