This Hawk replica is offered for sale.

 

I have owned the car for 4 years and love it but I have too many cars and it's time to let someone else enjoy it. What swung the deal when I bought it was the fact that all the work has only ever been carried out by professional mechanics. I have receipts that amount to a sum far in excess of the asking price.

This car is an early build with an interesting history.

Originally built by G. Bates, the Engineer that used to supply the chassis's to Hawk. It was built as close to an original including the correct Ferrari engine.

The car returned to Hawk ownership at some time needing an engine rebuild. It was then used as their demo model with I believe, an Alfa 3 litre before being sold on again.

 

The previous owner to myself spent a fair amount on the car, having a Ferrari 8.32 engine fitted professionally from the Lancia Thema 8.32. The car had a new rear section to take it back to the Stradale body, new hubs for the coffin spooked wheels and was re sprayed.

I have added to the car by having a par of original Stratos seats fitted. They have been re trimmed in the correct colour gold alcantara in Italy and finish the car off beautifully.

An original steering wheel completes the interior.

 

Recently serviced at 18600 km showing with new timing belts and overhauled water pump. Various little niggles were attended to at the same time.

The MOT runs through to October. Taxed for the road until the end of March.

 

The car is fast off the mark with a good power to weight ratio and sounds amazing.

 

Some areas that could be improved are;

slight crazing to some of the bodywork (I'm not familiar with fibreglass but reliably informed that this is considered normal).

The interior would benefit from fresh carpeting. The fascia trim has a great aged look to it and is in keeping with the age.

The syncromesh on 2nd gear is weak so a slow change is needed until the 'box oil warms up.

I have thought about synthetic oil but I do so few miles in the car it really hasn't been as issue for me.
