This is for replacement controls for AR's early model speakers such as the AR-3, AR-3a, AR-2, AR-2ax, AR-4, AR-4x, AR-5, etc.

This control is superior to the original control which AR used and was eventually utilized in the AR-3a Limited. It is heavy duty, has finer turns for better setability, is ventilated for heat removal and has excellent contact life. It is an "L Pad" design which holds the resistance nearly constant while adjusting the driver balance. All controls on all early model AR speakers were the same, both the High Range and the Midrange. I use these in all my AR speaker restorations. I have been using these on a regular basis for over 10 years and have never had to replace one. Included is a set of instructions for change out. The only tools required are a solder iron, electrical pliers and adjustable wrench or pair of pliers. The original AR control knob is an exact fit and is available in department, OTHER SPEAKER SERVICE PARTS, and will ship without additional shipping. If you are tired of those original troublesome controls then these may be for you.

As you will be removing the woofer to install these, I suggest you order a package or two of cabinet sealer found in Dept. OTHER SPEAKER SERVICE PARTS. Additionally, if you are considering replacing the crossover capacitors, now is the time while you are inside the cabinet. These are available in Dept. SPEAKER CROSSOVER CAPACITORS.
