For sale;  Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1300  (LHD)

Alfa Giulia Supers have long been overlooked in favour of their more glamorous stable mates, Giulia Coupes. However, when this car was new, it was still a sporting option, also offering accommodation for the whole family. With all the same running gear as the coupes, it has an all aluminium double overhead cam engine, twin 40 dellorto carbs, disc brakes all round, and a five speed gearbox. They offered very good performance for the engine size, with the typical italian free revving nature, and very good handling. Also, despite their "boxy" appearance, they have a drag coefficient of just 0.32.

This example has been cherished all it's life, being owned by the same family until 3yrs ago when I bought the car. There is documentation of restoration in 1989, and only minor work to the body has been needed since then to keep it in tip top condition. She is rust free, and all the paint and chrome is in very good condition. When I purchased the car she was thoroughly worked through by Bob Dove (well known in Alfa circles), and all the items that wear over time were checked and replaced. These included discs, suspension bushes, ball jnts, shock absorbers, t-bar, drive shaft, steering idler, and waterpump. The steering geometry was aligned to factory spec, inlet camshaft replaced and valve clearances and timing adjusted/checked. She has a pertronix electronic ignition, and silicone HT leads.

The interior is extremely good, with original rubber matting rather than carpets, and period Italian red piped rubber matting covers for all the footwells. All the interior fixtures and fittings are original and in good order, there are inertia seat belts front and rear. The only significant wear is to the driver's seat squab, where ther are some small cracks, (replacement covers are readily available).

The instruments are all in Italian, and the odometer reads 79200km, (about 50,000miles), believed to be genuine. The car is LHD, but the cabin is so light, and pillars narrow, that I have experienced no difficultied driving this car in the UK. I have a file full of original paperwork, from the original sales invoice, through to documents pertaining to reregistration, initially in Rome, and subsequently in the UK. I also have a letter of provenance from the previous owners confirming details.

This a very genuine, original, matching numbers car, in superb condition. She could be used for "concourse"/shows, used as a daily drive, or readily converted to a track day car if desired. She has been looked after extremely well over the years, and needs another good home. I would be happy to answer any questions-
