Original Vintage 1950s Evening Gown
by Brenner Sports.
A rare find- Simply stunning!
Brenner Sports' label is found inside the dress, under the skirt section. This company was a British ready-to-wear fashion house who manufactured clothing in the 1940s and 1950s.
Perfect for a vintage event, cocktail party or even as a wedding dress.
Fashioned in dusky pink- lilac satin- like material, with some weight. Colour is a shade deeper than photos suggest.
Features black velour velvet at neck trim.
Polka dot design is also in black velvet.
Bodice features elegant sweetheart neckline, with ruched detail at bust. Lining to reverse of bodice.
Short sleeve, also with ruched detail.
It fastens with original metal side zipper.
Beautiful vintage design, fitted bodice and flaring into full midi/ ballerina length skirt from waist.
This would also suit a netting underskirt, for a fuller effect.
This dress is in good vintage condition.
I have ironed this dress but it may require more de- creasing to show the fabric to its full glory. There are a few very small areas of wear with a tiny bit to seam under the arms (but no stains), a few small marks to front skirt (on very close inspection and are lost in the voluminousity).
Measurements
I would estimate this dress to best fit a UK size 10 (May also fit a UK8 or 12) but please look at measurements below: It is labeled a vintage UK 14.
Waist (measured flat)- 14.5"
Bust- approx 36". It is fairly generous for a vintage 1950s dress.
Waist to Hem- 30.5"
