Vintage Late 19th Century (Approx) Black-Painted Genuine Wood French Clogs/ Sabots! UK Size 5 - 5 1/2, Euro 38 - 38.5!
This is a traditional pair of blac-painted wooden clogs, which I believe are of Frnch descent, andwere also known as 'Sabots' in some regions! They have a traditional French shape, with a shaped toe and small integral heel, and each has been hewed out of a single block of wood, with some decorative carving, before being painted black. They are anatomically fitted on the inside, at the big toe, and are surprisingly comfortable, though I'm not sure how they would feel after 100 metres or so! They have a black rubber stay across the foot to help keep the clogs on, since the part over the toe is on the shallow side. The clogs are in well-used condition, and are a very interesting traditional/ historical item! Perfect for shoe collectors!
The clogs measure 9 3/4" measured on the inside from toe to the back, which is approx a UK size 5 to 5 1/2. I am a size 3 and they are a good 3/4" too long in the back for me.

I accept payment by cheque, postal order and PayPal only! Goods are sent when cheques have cleared. Non UK pay by PayPal only! The winner must contact me within 1 day of winning the auction, and payment must be recieved within 3 days. I report all unpaid items to ebay after 4 days, and if items remain unpaid, I will close the dispute, which will remain on your record. Only UK Recorded Delivery, Special Delivery, and International Signed-for Delivery/ Airsure are trackable! Postage charges include actual postage, packaging AND handling, which includes my time.
