is why you can still grade a certain gem Flawless even though it clearly shows
schiller, the copper crystal inclusions. All colored stones are graded by trainer unaided eye. All diamonds are

ESTIMATED MARKET VALUE: Based on current International pricing guides this gemstone is worth $ 900.- USD . Since there are so many different kinds and colors of Sunstone, the values range widely. The least valuable form is the Colorless which is typically offered at $8/ct. The Pastel Yellow and pure Gold colored Sunstone is more valued than Colorless and most popular jewelry sizes are sold at $15/ct range. Larger yellow gems up to 8,00ct are offered at $30/ct and large investment sized gems above 8,00ct usually sell at $40/ct range The Pinks and Tans, with and without Schiller, commonly range up to $50/ct depending on the effect type and intensity. Good AAA Schiller gems above 3,00 Ct typically sell for $65/ct. The opaque and included Cabochon stones are modestly priced, usually below $10/ct. Most common 1.0 to 3.0 Ct. Greens, strong Pinks and Reds as well as smaller to medium sized Dichroic stones, Bi-colored and Tri-colored stones with and without Schiller are offered in the $50 - $500/ct range mainly depending on the color purity, color intensity and color distribution. The second most valuable color is bright Pure Red (also called AAA Red) with large, (over 3 carat,) stones of prime color retailing at as much as $1700/ct, according to Sinkankas, and at $1000/ct in Federman's book. The best vivid Greens and rich Blue Greens are both extremely rare and cost substantially more than the best Reds, typically in $600/ct to $4500/ct range. The vivid “Padparadscha” Pink Orange can fetch up to $1,800 per carat on open retail market. As the Oregon colored Sunstone is becoming more and more popular, so is the price per carat increasing accordingly. Remember, Oregon is the ONLY source of these amazing gems! Two years ago I predicted a strong price increase of natural genuine Oregon Sunstones. I read the gem market carefuly and this is not the first time I told people to start investing into a certain gemstone to make lots of money fast. Colored Sunstone from Oregon is STILL undervalued yet extremely rare and beautiful American gemstone. I strongly advise you to invest in these amazing rare gemstones while my stock prices are still low. Another price increase in 3 to 5-fold is expected within next 48 months!
HARDNESS: 6.5 to 7.2 on Moh’s Scale (hardness of Oregon Sunstone is similar to or even greater than Amethyst and Citrine, suitable for jewelry wear). Sunstones from other than Oregon mining regions and common cheap Iron Oxide Schiller Sunstones from Africa, India, Sri Lanka and other places are considerably softer and many show a different hardness layers within a single crystal/stone. Such Sunstones are less suitable for jewelry or may not be used in jewelry at all. Gems not mined in Oregon only share the name “Sunstone”, take this fact into consideration when comparing prices and values. All other Sunstone is colored by Iron Oxide, never shows the valued Copper Schiller and is never found in rare colors like Green, Blue Green, Red, Padparadscha, and many others.
