Our "Oak Branch" shelf design; made to order from solid oak, hand picked for it's character and strength. The Oak branch is our most popular shelf combining both inclined and flat surfaces, this makes it great for a wide variety of items. Including books, DVDs and CDs as well as ornaments and photos etc. Every shelf we build is unique; whilst following a similar pattern, they are made to accommodate natural features of the wood so no two are ever the same

- Grain and board edges continuously flow throughout the branches
- Standard size 0.95m high x 1.8m wide
- Shelf depth; 200mm at the base tapering to 150mm at the tip

Finishes

- Oiled Bark Edge -
Our truly rustic finish, the bark edge is left on as nature intended it. The board faces are planed and sanded smooth but the edge is left alone. It is finished with a modest coat of danish oil to bring out the dark colour of the bark and a golden brown in the heartwood, the board faces are then buffed by hand.

- Oiled Waney Edge -
Stripped bare. The board faces are planed, the bark is removed with a drawknife to leave the natural waney edge and it is sanded smooth. It is finished with a modest coat of danish oil to bring out the golden brown in the heartwood, the board faces are then buffed by hand.

- Limed Waney Edge -
Stripped bare. The board faces are planed, the bark is removed with a drawknife to leave the natural waney edge and it is sanded smooth. The oak is then bronze wire brushed by hand before being coated in a liming paste followed by a neutral coloured Black Bison wax. The end result is a pale, white, shabby chic colour which still preserves the grain in the oak.

- Oiled Clean Edge -
The boards are cut clean, planed and sanded on all sides before receiving a danish oil finish. Giving a crisp modern look, this finish is closely matched to that found on most modern day Oak furniture.

- Limed Clean Edge -
The boards are cut clean, planed and sanded on all sides. The oak is then bronze wire brushed by hand before being coated in a liming paste followed by a neutral coloured Black Bison wax. The end result is a pale, white, shabby chic colour which still preserves the grain in the oak.
