This deluxe, professional quality matte box allows you to control unwanted glare and lens flare from your shots.   It also provides a means of using filters.  The unit is compatible with any industry standard 15mm rail system.

This deluxe model is larger than the standard model, and is constructed from ultra-tough, lightweight carbon fibre.

The other feature that differentiates this matte box from the standard model is that it is both height and distance adjustable.  This means that it is simpler to make the height of the box meet the lens, and more importantly, shorter lenses can quickly be swapped out for longer telephoto lenses. - Instead of moving the mounting position of the matte box, (which may be blocked by other rig accessories, or require rod extensions to fit), it can simply be slid outwards with just one screw to undo.

The kit includes one French flag, and two adjustable side wings.  Each of the three flaps can be positioned and locked in place so as to suit different focal lengths by providing the maximum amount of shading without getting in the way of the shot.

A set of 4 “donut” rings are included.  By fitting one of these rings, light from the rear of the matte box can be blocked out, leaving only the camera lens protruding through. Donuts are slightly flexible, and the four sizes range to fit almost any lens diameter.  This deluxe model also includes a set of “nuns knickers”, used to further prevent any light entering the lens from the sides.

The two included filter holders are designed to fit standard 4”x4” filters.  The filter holders are both rotatable, perfect for polarising filters.  Locking knobs secure the filters in place.

For changing lenses quickly, the unit features a swing away arm, which locks away at a 90 degree position.  Thanks to high build quality and tight tolerances, the locked away position is surprisingly sturdy.

The surrounding framework is machined from lightweight aluminium alloy, using CNC techniques and hard anodised in black to provide a finish which is highly durable, and very resistant to scratching (a far superior durability when compared to cheaper powder coated parts).
