This kit is designed for situations where you only have two cables coming from your dish and it’s impractical to add more, but you have two receivers, both of which are twin tuners, (both can view one channel and record another)

So before we go any further, here’s the compromise, you can only have one receiver powered on at a time, you must switch one off before powering the other one on.  The only way to have all tuners working at once is to have 4 cables from your dish.

This kit compromises:

Use your existing cables from your satellite dish to feed the two splitters

A quick note on LNBs 

 

LNBs are Low Noise Blockers, they are the thing that sticks up in the middle of your satellite dish, usually with four connectors on the bottom these days.  Each device (Sky Plus, F5 Box etc.) provides the power to a connection on the LNB in order to control the channel you are watching.  This means even though you can use the Tee for sale in this advert to connect two devices, one must be in standby before the other is switched to live, or the LNB will get confused and be unable to show the channel (Power off both boxes to reset). 

 

For twin tuners, (where you can watch one channel and record another)  if you leave both devices on, the chances are any scheduled recording will fail  (as the record function uses a 2nd connection),  simply remember, only have one device on at a time.
