This auction is for an  Ex Libris Bookplate for Edmund H. Garrett.  The bookplate was designed by Garrett himself and is initialed by him and dated 1894.  Garrett, of Winchester, MA., was a designer and engraver of bookplates.  According to the Journal of the Ex Libris Society Vol. 15 Jan. 1905 he had roughly 50 bookplates to his credit.

This bookplate is part of an extensive collection of Ex Libris bookplates by Sidney Smith and many others dating from the mid to late 19th century through the 1920's that I will be putting up for auction.   If you are interested in Ex Libris bookplates from that era, keep your eye out for them.

The Bookplate is in Excellent condition.  The bookplate  is mounted on black construction paper 5x7 inches in size.  see scan. 

The bookplate in the scan is the one you will receive so please examine closely.
