A GOOD, ANTIQUE ENGLISH SILVER VERGE FUSEE CHAMPLEVE POCKET WATCH, LONDON c1750

 

A very nice Antique English Silver, consular cased Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, made in London and dating from c1750.  It is in very good condition and in working order. 


The solid silver case is in good condition.  It is hallmarked with the case maker’s initials "TL" for Thomas Lawrence, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark and the Leopard's Head Crowned London town mark (the date letter worn).  Thomas Lawrence is recorded as a watch case maker working c1748 - 1760.


The Verge Fusee movement is in working order. It is key wound and set. The movement has a nicely engraved balance cock and is signed by the maker "Garve Reeve, London".   


The dial is in good condition.  There is a nice pair of original hands, however the end of the hour hand is missing.  The bulls eye glass is in good condition.


It measures approximately 55mm in diameter
