Friends, this listing is for a VINTAGE Silver EGYPTIAN REVIVAL CHARM BRACELET containing 3 CARTOUCHE charms, 3 Ankhs and 2 Lotus Charms. Tests positive as genuine silver, however the actual silver content may not be .925 Sterling as other silver standards have been used throughout history (800, 850, 950, 999). On the back there are three stamps; two appear to be diamond-shaped Maker's Marks with a leafy symbol and the other appears to be a silver punch mark. Since these are not "modern" marks it most likely was made in Egypt as a piece of souvenir jewelry in the 1920s or 30s after the discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922.

Notice how finely detailed the two Lotus charms are and that each Cartouche charm is unique; that the hieroglyphics on all three Cartouche charms are different from each other.

Compare it to other egyptian style charms I am listing for sale at this time in the last pictures above.

The Bracelet is in GOOD to EXCELLENT condition with NORMAL signs of wear and a GOOD patina for its age. The clasp is in good working order and it measures 8 and 1/2 inches from end to end. Plus, it weighs 13.4 grams!

Why the comparison with a Mercury Dime??

First of all, the Mercury Dime (or Winged Liberty Head dime) was produced by the United States government from 1916 to 1945. The coin weighs 2.5 grams and is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper.  For example, today's current Roosevelt dime is composed of 0% silver.

So, when I believe a Silver medal or charm has some age to it, I'll use a Mercury Dime from 1943 (almost 70 years old and 90% real silver) in a picture together with it.  This can be an invaluable aid in judging age.  In fact, the comparison shows you not only the size, but what the standard patina and wear really look like on a 70 year old coin.  You can then judge for yourself whether the charm/medal has more or less wear or patina than the coin and is, therefore, more or less old than the coin. And, if the item isn't silver, then the dime is just for size comparison.

Thanks for looking!
