RARE 12" Smiling Bru Fashion w/Original Trousseau & Trunk c.1873

Wonderful creamy bisque socket head on shoulderplate with leather body with perfect bisque hands all in excellent condition. Her leather body is in fablous shape with only minor patching, guaranteed to be leak free when you receive her. She has wonderful painting of features including dark rimmed eyes with distinct upper lid, super delicate lash painting, cafe-au-lait brow painting, delicate lip rendering of plump lips with accent lines. Large blue paperweight eyes and soft nose. She has an antique blond mohair wig as well as a vintage mohair wig with miniature ringlets and braided crown at the back.

Mademoiselle has a very wide variety of antique original costumes in her trousseau, but we will start with her imaculate cream silk walking ensemble with a delicate silk ribbon ruffle trim around the collar and hem, as well as some spectacular silk ribbon decoration in pale petal pink on the bodice with a large rose bustle at the back. Included in her trousseau she has a delightful Chantilly net lace over ball gown with square collar and cerise silk insertion in the collar, cuffs and hem, a very delicate Absinthe Green silk tea dress (I wouldn't recommend this one for wear as there is some separation of the silk but thankfully no melting, but great for display) a pink silk 'Orientalist' wrapper. The first three dresses I believe to be original to little miss, the pink silk wrapper might be a bit later, from the 1890's. She has a delightful original set of undergarments including a lace edged half slip, a beautiful chemise, and an embroidery trimmed pantaloon. She is completed by her original Bru factory leather boots in stable condition (one heel missing, a few buttons gone.) She will attend her new home in her original trunk which has paper from an American department-store within. There is some significant wear to the exterior of the trunk, but the interior is incredible, in very good condition with hardly any paper peeling. Mademoiselle is in possession of quite the treasure trove of goodies! How lucky are we that we have her in such all original condition as this!

Condition: Near Mint. This beautiful girl is in excellent condition, free of hairlines, cracks, chips or other damage- her only small flaw is that her left earlobe has been re-touched, probably to cover ear-flakes that are very common on these tiny fashion dolls, especially with original earrings, as Mademoiselle is sporting. Her shoulder plate and hands are absolutely perfect. She does not have any cheekrubs, or other such visual flaws. The body is in very sturdy shape as well, in beautiful, clean condition- not many hands have touched her! What a true treasure it is to see this rare and radiant maiden after so many years in her trunk, kept from harms way, just waiting to be loved and cared for by her new owner. An extraordinary doll, if you are looking for something truly outstanding, perhaps something to even enter for competition at convention, this amazing girl would be my top pick. They just do not come any more outstanding than this!
