What exactly is "fucoidan" ?
"Fucoidan" is a kind of water-soluble fiber that is found in the slimy component in some seaweed, such as kelp and mozuku. It is an essential substance for seaweed. It acts as scratch and wounds repellent, a barrier to protect the seaweed from bacteria and microorganisms in the ocean, and a moisturizer if it becomes dry, is exposed to the Sun or wind.
