For Sale:  A NOS US Rifle Elevation Sight for Long Rifles:  Garand, 1903 Springfield and similar.  It determines the launching angle when used for low velocity, short range, high-arcing ballistic trajectories. You will receive one (1ea) complete elevation sight kit that is NOS and was designed and issued for US small arms. It is also suitable for use on British Enfield and Swiss Mauser rifles.

The parts shown are of an unpackaged unit to example what you will receive.  Included in the kit is both an installation guide and a range table.  The canvas belt holders were marked with different manufacturer markings.  The canvas pouch shown has no date but some do.  If you have to have a date on it, please advise before bidding and I will do my best to find one for you.  <-->

The circular mounting plate & guage is attached to the rifle stock and left there.  The rifle is carried in normal service with the guage in place.  The sight itself is left in the belt case and carried on the belt or upper rifle strap.  When the inclinometer is needed (the elevation sight), it is removed from belt case, mounted and then adjusted.  When finished, you put it back in the belt case.  <-->

The sight's range table is columned for the carbine, the Garand and the Springfield A3.  The effective range for the Garand and Springfield was 270 yards.  You can expect similar results for any military small arm utilizing 30.06 chambering launching charges.  Modern range practice events often use tennis balls expelled from a PVC muzzle adapter.  <-->

The item for sale is NOS US Government issued and in prime collector condition. You will not be dissatiisfied.  These were made during WW2 in the USA and kept hermetically sealed in GSA warehousing.   They are perfect and great for display or reuse.  Email me if you have any questions or wish a quantity of more than one.

**NOTE THIS ALERT**  eBay is toughening up its policy on items it deems inappropriate for retail commerce and may soon bar items like this from selling.  If you have been thinking of getting one, you probably should do it soon.  Most of the ones I have left have the 1944 date shown on the cover.  If this is important to you and that is what you want, please email me as you purchase and let me know so that I will make sure you get what you want.  Otherwise we ship as we pull it from the case.

About the price:  I'm nearing the end of the allotment I had and there are not many left.  When they're gone, they'll be gone.  For those of you who want an authentic Government issue from WW2 the couple of bucks more should not be an issue.
