Inspired by the Buffalo movement of the 1980s, these boots are perfect to create your own style. A zip fastening makes them easy to pull on and go. The sole is a subtle nod to Dr Martens iconic yellow stitching. The signature air-cushioned sole is Commando cleated for added ruggedness.

Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

Our packages are shipped via UPS and USPS. Once tracking is available for the shipment it is updated to your order information. Packages shipped via UPS can be tracked at http://www.ups.com and with USPS at http://www.usps.com. Unless expedited shipping is requested, packages are shipped with standard shipping. UPS shipments will be delivered within 3-5 business days and USPS packages will vary in delivery times, depending if they are international or domestic shipments.

DOMESTIC

1) If you have a shipping service preference (UPS/USPS), please contact us with the details of your request and we will do our best to meet your needs.

2) Tracking information will be available for your package. You will receive an email with the tracking details once it is posted to the purchase.

3) Expedited service can be available, for an additional fee.

 

INTERNATIONAL

1) All international shipments will be sent via USPS Priority Mail International.

2) We cannot remove items from the box to decrease the weight of the package. They are advertised as NEW IN BOX and we must ship them exactly as advertised.

3) We WILL NOT alter Customs documents to reduce the fees/taxes to be paid in your country. That is considered fraud and is something we will not partake in.

4) You are responsible for all Taxes & Duties - which will be charged upon delivery. Please contact your local customs agent to determine your estimated taxes & duties.

5) All international shipments are thoroughly inspected to assure perfect product fulfillment.

6) Returns of international items will only be accepted if the buyer assumes responsibility for the cost to return and to receive a new item, if an exchange is requested.

We offer a full 30 days for returns in unworn condition and original packaging for exchanges or refunds. Please email us and let us know which one you would prefer. We will respond within 24 business hours with an RMA# and return instructions.

Please be aware that if you paid for shipping and the item was not advertised as "Free Shipping" then the original shipping fee will not be refunded when the item is returned,

Your return will be processed within 3 business days of being received.  You will also receive a confirmation email when the process is complete and a refund or exchange has been issued.

Please note that we only accept returns for new, unworn items, in their original packaging. $10 will be deducted from the refund amount for items sent without the original shoebox or without an outside shipping package.

**KEEP IN MIND THAT ONLY UNWORN ITEMS IN THERE ORIGINAL CONDITION WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR A RETURN OR EXCHANGE. ORIGINAL SHIPPING FEES, IF ANY WILL NOT BE REFUNDED AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH SHIPPING A NEW SIZE/STYLE BACK TO YOU, SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO EXCHANGE.

Exchanges will be processed according to availability. If the product is not available once the return is received and processed the return will be fully refunded.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. That is unless there is a manufacturer's defect or the cause for the return is in some way our error. In these cases we will provide a pre-paid return shipping label.
