YANG CHENG FAMILLE ROSE CANTON ROOSTER 17” PLATTER
This 17” platter was purchased on a People to People trip to the Far East in 1974 or 1981.
It has the Yang Cheng mark. Yang Cheng is the ancient name of Canton City, meaning Goat City. The mark is of two goats holding a vase. There are 7 roosters, which are considered an embodiment of five virtues: civil culture, martial qualities, courage, benevolence and trustworthiness.

The platter measures 17”x12”x1.5”. The piece is intact without any chips, cracks, or fleabites. The gilt edge has some slight wear, otherwise the decoration is excellent.
