Chinese - dating from the first half of the 20th century.
Hand carved and worked from two sections of natural celadon jade hard-stone, (the cover slightly darker than the censer vessel).
The tripod form incorporates highly complex and ornate lugs, within which a pair of rings are captive, (all carved from the solid). The tripod arrangement incorporates masks and paw type feet - image 6.
The cover is precisely located by an integral collet type lip within the opening to the vessel. Three complex lugs are finished with pierced and shaped embellishment - two lugs incorporates captive rings. The third lug, (positioned to the rear), was not carved to include a ring.
