A wealth of hitherto unpublished material from the files of Mme. M. G. Dortu,who inherited all the artist's pictures and correspondence from Maurice Joyant, Lautrec's close friend and dealer, provides a new image of the artists. Informal photographs of the artist taken in his studio and on outings with his friends-reveal new facets of Lautrec's personality; the many pictures of his models, acquaintances, and scenes he knew, placed in juxtaposition with his paintings and drawings of them, throw new light on his work.
Philippe Huisman writes with grace, affection, and perception about Lautrec's life and the value of his work. With Mme. Dortu he has edited and woven into a compelling narrative the facts disclosed by many hitherto unpublished letters, diaries, interviews, and recollections of the artist's friends.
Never before has such a great number of reproductions of Lautrec's paintings, lithographs, and drawings been brought together, and rarely has any volume contained so many documents and facts about a single artist. We no longer ship packages outside of the United States. We may make exceptions for SINGLE books or other SMALL items if the bidder contacts us BEFORE bidding. We will remove bids of those who do not contact us first.
High bidder to pay postage and if desired, insurance. We DO recommend insurance. The Post Office is NOT perfect. We will NOT refund for items lost in shipping that have not been insured.
